Shane Fitzpatrick, CPA
I grew up in Port Orchard and graduated from South Kitsap High School. I eventually moved to Ellensburg to attend Central Washington University. I started as a marketing major, interning in sales and marketing departments while as full-time student. There I started my first business, a digital marketing agency, where I helped small brick and mortar business owners reach more customers. I learned firsthand the struggles of an entrepreneur from my clients and my own business.
After realizing the gap in small business accounting knowledge, I repositioned my skillset by switching to an accounting major. While in college, I worked as an interim accounting manager where I created financial processes from scratch for a $10m revenue agricultural business. I also worked in our university’s entrepreneurship department, helping students start and grow their own businesses. I eventually became eligible for the CPA exams and passed all 4 on my first try.
My first professional job after of college was for one of the big 4 global accounting firms, KPMG. It was here I worked on many mergers & acquisitions. From giants like Chess.com to small startups, I learned the technical skills required to perform financial due diligence and give valuations.
My next job was at a top 10 national firm, Moss Adams. While they were a large firm, our office focused primarily on small business taxation and accounting. I learned many technical tax and accounting skills in this role relevant for entrepreneurs. My last job was at a small regional firm where I further specialized in small business accounting and taxation. It was here I also worked on small business acquisitions, performed financial statement clean-ups, and multi-state taxation.
I moved back to my hometown of Port Orchard and started this CPA firm to help people take advantage of our tax system, rather than get taken advantage of. Meanwhile, I’ve found time to coach at my local middle school, and go on hikes with my wife and corgi.
I’m so excited to meet you!
